Broadcast Love

We are at a time in history when we are aware of the sufferings of so many people. People being pushed out from their homes and killed. People getting caught in terrible fires and earthquakes. People among us who are plagued by and acting on others from the insatiable ghosts of money hunger and power hunger. And people struggling to bear the weight of what we are aware of. Our modernity gives us both access to so many resources and also so much painful information that it can be difficult to process.

At times like this, I have to remember that what is not being broadcast very loudly is the kind word of one stranger to another. The simple act of helping. The quiet prayer that goes out on another’s behalf. A daily chore done with love for a family. A softness in the heart toward another’s suffering. One person standing to support another. In the end, I still believe that there is far more love that we humans carry for each other than there is ill will. The ill will receives a much louder broadcast. Consider using your voice today to call out a simple demonstration of love that you observe. Let’s broadcast it a little bit louder today.
